The Haus Fit™ Core is a custom sports guard designed for developed athletes participating in medium to high-contact play (typically ages 14+). Built for a wide range of sports and skill levels, its comfortable medium-profile design provides increased protection while still allowing room for easy breathing and talking.

Core is our most versatile Haus Fit™, built using our proprietary two-layer fabrication technique to balance protection, comfort and performance.

Fabricated with: Your custom mold is created using high-performance, dental-grade 3D printing resin. Your guard is fabricated using 2 layers of premium German made soft-elastic thermoforming material, formulated with ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) for exceptional comfort, flexibility and impact protection.

Custom or At-Home Heat Molded Guards?

At Guard Haus, we always recommend a custom sports guard for optimal protection, fit, and performance.

Custom guards are designed specifically to your anatomy, providing a secure fit that allows for better breathing, communication, and consistent impact protection during play.

At-home heat molded (boil-and-bite) guards can be a temporary option, but they often result in bulky fit, uneven thickness, and reduced long-term durability.

When is a custom guard not ideal?

A heat-molded or flexible option may be more appropriate if:

  • The athlete is under the age of 12 and still has active tooth development (baby teeth present)
  • The athlete has active orthodontic appliances, such as:Braces,Aligner attachments, Herbst or other functional appliances

In these cases, a guard may need to accommodate ongoing tooth movement or hardware changes.

Our Recommendation:

If there are no active changes occurring in the mouth, a custom, non-active appliance is always the best choice to ensure:

  • Maximum protection
  • Consistent fit
  • Long-term durability

How Long Will a Custom Sports Guard Last?

After the age of 13 with proper care, a custom sports guard can last multiple seasons while maintaining its fit and protective performance.

To extend the life of your guard, we recommend:

  • Avoiding chewing or biting on the guard
  • Cleaning regularly (without over-scrubbing or harsh chemicals)
  • Storing in a protective case
  • Keeping away from extreme heat, cold, and pets

When Should It Be Replaced?

Your guard should be replaced immediately if you notice:

  • Cracks or structural damage
  • Changes in fit or looseness
  • Significant wear from use or chewing
  • Any dental changes (new dental work, shifting, orthodontics)
